Pending Authorization

On February 28, 2020, I ordered an item from MyGiftCardsPlus, paid with PayPal. But MyGiftCardsPlus canceled the item on the same day without any notification. Besides MyGiftCardsPlus didn't cancel the transaction of PayPal. Today is February 29, 2020 and the payment is still under pending with the authorization flair on it. I have already went to Resolution Center to report about it but its not working. Please help me regarding my issue. Thank you.

When you pay a company (rather than an ebay seller or individual), then it is often pending until that company processes your order and captures the pending payment.

If they don't process that order and capture the pending payment then the pending status times out at 30 days post-payment.

I think that 30 days waiting time is too long as i need it urgently. Is there any other way to get back the amount quickly?

It may be pending in your funding source ie bank or card issuer.

If you say you won't be needing it to pay that company they may release it back into your funds again?

I have the same problem right now. Did you find a way to cancel the authorization sooner than 30 days? I called the merchant and they told me the purchase is cancelled. Not sure what else I can do.

They cancelled your purchase but they can't refund any funds as they never captured them in the first place.

So they have up to 30 days to capture the payment and if they do not then it will be returned to you.

In this case I am the merchant (hotel) and we have a guest saying there is an authorization held on her card that we can't see on our end so there is no way for us to release/delete it. Does anyone have any information on this?
