Paypal repeatedly keeps charging the wrong preferred method of payment

I don't have a complicated account. I never ever ever pay bills through any source other than directly to each creditor. The ONLY thing I use paypal for is to pay for things online from sites that I don't want to give my credit cards to. I also have a paypal credit card. Here is the problem. Lately, when I enter a preferred method of payment, paypal IGNORES it when I make a Google android games purchase. It doesn't matter WHAT my preferred method is, the paypal card, or another card, they ALWAYS charge my bank account. The only reason I have my bank account on file is for making payments to my paypal credit card since you can't use debit card or other credit card to do that. The last time this happened, I sent a message since Paypal refuses to ever talk to anyone on the phone. The response was that I needed to talk to GOOGLE about it. WHY WOULD I DO THAT??????????? Google has NO IDEA WHICH accounts Paypal is using to pay for my purchase. THAT'S THE WHOLE POINT OF USING PAYPAL. So I started taking my bank account OFF the list of linked accounts every time I planned on making a Google purchase and ONLY THEN did paypal FINALLY start using my PREFERRED payment method for those purchases. But yesterday, I didn't remove the bank account before the purchase because I had also just made a payment to the paypal credit card, and didn't want to cause a problem with the payment, and of COURSE they charged the BANK ACCOUNT for the Google purchase even though it was an hour after I made the payment and I signed off and on and off and on and off and on again to confirm that my other credit card I had linked was set as the preferred method... I have emails from paypal to prove it was set as the preferred method as well. This needs to STOP. How do I get Paypal to PAY ATTENTION to the preferred method of payment????????????? I'm going to stop using them and close the credit card if this EVER happens even one more time. I have plenty of other credit cards. Is there a solution?

Exactly, twice in last month I confirmed PayPal credit was only preferred payment method. But made a purchase and PayPal used my bank account, this time causing a $500 overdraw! PayPal made the UNAUTHORIZED bank withdrawal! I had already immediately cancelled purchase with vendor, but still waiting four days for PayPal to refund the money into my bank account. I am now considering NOT using PayPal again for online purchases, although PayPal credit has worked fine for me. The regular PayPal service is the problem.
