Paypal no longer works on Google Play

I have been making frequent purchases on Google play through my paypal account which is linked to my bank account. I have plenty of money in my account yet Google has started to tell me that the payment has been declined because of an issue with my paypal account. I checked and I do no have any notifications. Paypal has been working for other purchases through other companies, it just stopped working for Google. This issue has been happening since last night. Any information would be helpful. I called paypal and they basically said not to make purchases there anymore, which wasn't helpful.
