Paypal asks to add credit card while i have verified bank account for 8 years

Recently i made payments through paypal without any problem. But since begin of august 2018 i cannot make payments because Paypal is asking to add a credit card. WHY? 

I haven't had any problems during 8 years and now.. it must be a problem?

I use Paypal just BECAUSE i don't want a credit card or master card or whatever to pay online. That's why this service exists right?

How to solve this issue please?

Well yes, people swear sometimes, i bet you do too if your life depends on buying medication and you can't because of credit card issue.
