Payment reversal

Tonight I received an unknown payment which PayPal reversed on request. I’ve now got a request from the sender for the payment back even though PayPal has just sent it. What now?

Tell the sender that PayPal reversed the payment and to contact customer service (by clicking "Help & Contact" at the bottom of the PayPal website) if they have a problem or check their original funding source for the refund.

Issued refunds go back to the sender's original funding source, so arrival times may vary:

- Bank payments, 3-5 or 5-7 days, depending on your bank. 

- Cards, about a week, up to 30 days depending on your issuing card. 

- PayPal balance, fairly instant. 

- Split payments between PayPal balance and card/bank, see above.
