Payment reported in Paypal email not in Paypal account.

I received an email from Paypal informing me of a payment that I was expecting, but when I checked my account the payment was not listed.

Was it sent in a currency you hold in your paypal account?

Was it sent to the same email address you have linked and verified on your paypal account?

Are you sure it was not a spoof paypal email and a scam?

You hit in on the nose.  It was an ebay sale and the buyer sent the payment to my ebay email address.  I added the address as a secondary email to my Paypal account and the problem was resolved.  Thanks.
