Payment pending

My friend has just sent me some money on paypal and for some reason its says in being investigated due to security reasons and its pending, what does this mean? How long until I get the money they've sent me?

Thanks for replying! Do you know why it may be pending due to security reasons? I've never had that before so I'm a bit concerned

Sure its for security and not just an echeque? Is there a clearance date?
