Payment pending and refund stays

I made a purchase on eBay. Seller sent item, but payment stayed in pending. I told them about this. Time goes by and I get refunded because sellers did not verify PayPal email in time. Now seller is asking for direct payment thru PayPal, because they said they did not know. What should I do now?

Have you received your item and are happy with it? If so then as long as your refund has completed back to your funding source then i can't see any reason not to pay the seller?
