Payment on unconfirmed email address

Recently a sender claimed to send me money. However, I have not seen the payment on my side. Later, I realized my email address was unconfirmed and followed all the procedures and it was confirmed. However, I haven't received any payment since I made the changes. Please help. What happens after confirming the email? Bearing in mind a sender had already sent some money.

If it was sent but unclaimed then the 'sender' may have the option to cancel the payment OR it would time out 30 days post payment anyway.

If you haven't received it then odds are its been cancelled.
