On 10/9 I ordered an item from Gamestop, paid with PayPal, and canceled the item the same day due to finding a much better deal elsewhere, the item never shipped and I got a cancellation confirmation via email from GameStop. I figured that the authorization charge for the item would drop in a couple business days as they usually do. Today is 10/20 and the payment is still under pending with the authorization flair on it. I have contacted PayPal and GameStop multiple times each and they are just blaming each other. PayPal initially said the payment would be released on 10/19 as they automatically release them after 7 business days when that didn't happen I messaged them back and they said they cant do anything and the merchant didn't send the proper void information. GameStop bluntly said they cant do anything and I need to contact PayPal. This has caused $120 from my PayPal balance to be tied up without me being able to use it neither side is helping and I dont know what to do.

Hi @SarahP7,
I'm sorry to hear that your funds are tied up because of this and I can definitely understand your frustration with the back and forth without a clear solution. To try and clear this up, please note that PayPal can only cancel an authorization after 30 days have passed. In the meantime, only the merchant can cancel a pending authorization, even if the order was placed through PayPal. With GameStop being a larger corporation you may have trouble getting in touch with someone who can directly access the PayPal side of the order so I apologize for the back and forth. Since your order was placed on 10/9, you can contact us on 11/9 and an agent will be able to assist you with canceling the authorization if it is still pending.
