Payment denied / cancelled

The answer to this may be completely obvious but I just tried to send money to myself using my card .. the money left my bank account but then I received 2 emails one telling me (the sender) that payment was denied and another telling me (the recipient) that payment was cancelled .. can anyone tell me why?

Hi @Pam726,

 

I'm sorry to hear that a payment that you tried to send was denied. If you're cash advancing to yourself from a card, the system maybe denying the payment for that reason. If it not permitted to use PayPal to cash advance from a card or to assist anyone else in doing so. For more information about this and other restricted activities, please take a look at the PayPal User Agreement, which can be found by clicking Legal at the bottom of the PayPal website.
