Payment cancelled, but still taken from bank account through e check

Hi! I am new to using paypal, and recently had an ebay seller cancel an order. The payment cancelled in my paypal, but still came out of my bank account when I checked my statement. Is this normal? I'm wondering if I should just wait it out or if I should get in contact with either my bank, ebay, or paypal. Thanks!

You can cancel a transaction but you can't cancel an already processing payment which starts to process the second you click to pay.

So those funds can't do a u-turn > they have to process through to paypal who will then either return them to your funding source (if you paid with a debit or credit card), or credit your paypal balance (if it was funded from your balance or instant bank transfer), but that takes a few days and sometimes up to a week.
