Not using my backup account

I recently started getting “insufficient funds” errors when i did not have enough in my paypal balance. I DO have a backup account and it has been working fine up until this week.

Is the backup account a debit/credit card that could have expired?

Checking Account. I did have something returned but it has been cleared up and resolved. Bank account is fine.

Okay, so you're saying the checking account is a backup source to your PayPal balance?

Do you have a debit card for that bank account? If you add that and use it as the backup source it should work as expected, and you'd end up in the same place.
