New account but have not recieved money

I made an account to receive a payment from a friend in the UK (Im in Ireland) and i sent him a money request. He said he put the payment through but the money request shows pending, i got no notification and my wallet is still empty. Why is this?

What currency was the money request in?

ok then is it pending on HIS paypal account or YOURS?

If its on the senders then ask them if its pending / unclaimed and if so is there a cancel option?
