I sent £50 to a friend using ‘friends and family’ we believe the £50 went to her account, she sent me the £50 back the same day, however today £50 went out her account and now she’s on -£50 balance without buying anything. Could anyone please explain?

The system thinks there wasn't enough to refund from the paypal balance for some reason so there is a negative balance.
Have friend call customer service to review her transaction activity:
Log on, click HELP on top menu, scroll down to click CONTACT US, and then scroll down to click CALL US.
