I am selling a desk set on Craigslist. A buyer wants to deposit money into my Paypal account and has requested my email and name for me to receive payment. Is this normal or is this a scam?

Probably a scam. If the item is small then they send you a fake paypal email that says you have to send the item and give tracking before the funds show in your balance. Or if its a large item they will tell you that you have to pay the shipping agent first before funds are released. Paypal never tells you to do anything unless the funds are showing in your paypal account balance.
