Instant or a Few Days

I was supposedly sent $2500 as a gift. Paypal even called the guy to confirm. It has not shown up in my account or even as pending status and it has been 10hours. Is it supposed to be instant or will it take 2-3 business days.

Firstly check the email address the funds were sent to and make sure there was not a typo?

Secondly are you sure this is not a scam as paypal don't normally phone to check a payment has been made?
