If a money request says pending does it mean it can be awaiting confirmation?

Hi I have a buyer who said he paid and the payment is awaiting confirmation and he sent me screenshots showing balance deduction. I already stupidly sent the goods which were digital and I’m wondering if I have been scammed and should contact his local police. He said the payment would confirm in 24 hours so I’ll wait until then please let me know.

No, it means, not paid yet.

When a money request or an invoice is paid, the status will be marked PAID.
