I cannot receive payments

I received an email, telling me that my account was ready to receive payments. However, whoever tries to pay me is unable to do so and is taken to a screen that says, "the recipient is currently unable the receive payments." I would be grateful if you could help me out with this. I am from India, so I have linked my PAN card to my account.
