How to get money refunded?

Hi,

I already sent payment to a friend (via his email) and then found out that he does not have a PayPal account. FYI - he does not want to set up a Paypal account to claim the money. Side note: To honor his request, I paid him by check.

Question: How do I reclaim my money?

Thanks,

Scott W.

What does it say next to the transaction in your Paypal account?

1. Pending (with a clearance date)
2. Pending/Unclaimed with a cancel option.
3. Pending/Unclaimed withOUT a cancel option.
4. Payment or Sent.
5. Pending/Uncleared with a clearance date.

Hi, I'm not sure if I'm replying the right way here?

If you're receiving this message, kernowlass, thanks for reaching out.

RE your question, under my transaction, it says "Payment sent."  (#4 on your list).

If its showing as sent then it has successfully transferred to the email address you sent it to that is linked to an open paypal account.

So your friend must have a paypal account OR you sent it to another person.

If your friend did not have a paypal account OR can't access it then it would show as pending / unclaimed.

Are you sure its a real friend only scammers get you to use the f/f option and then pretend they can't access the funds knowing there is nothing you can do about it as you have no buyer protection.
