How To Claim Incoming Unclaimed Payments

To cut a very long story short:
A few friends sent money to me via a ko-fi account which is linked to my paypal. I received emails stating the money is currently sitting "unclaimed" and that I needed to set up a paypal business account to claim the money.
I had a normal personal account and chose to upgrade (i guess) it to a business account as when I tried to make a business account and add the email I needed, it would not happen - I presume because the email in question is already attached to a paypal account.
The email the money was sent to is linked to the account and the emails itself states:
Was this payment sent to an address that isn't linked to your account? To claim this payment, log in to your PayPal account, click Profile and add this email address to your account. |
After you've added this email address to your PayPal account, this payment will be accepted and we will send you an email confirmation. |
I still have not received the money through into the account, and I don't know why? Is there something else I need to do? The email is linked to the account and I changed it to a business account, so that should be it, right?
