High fees - family & friends

Hello,

I would like to ask why paypal charges such high fees.

Last time, I was sending 9 € to my friend and I was charged 2.65 € fee, which is like 29.4% fee - or am I doing something wrong? When I send money,I keep left column as CZK and right (recipient) EUR, so I know how much I spend - isnt that the problem?

I read also, that if I pay through my credit card (money not on paypal) It's bank fee - but still - 2.65 € is quite high,isn't it?

you can review fee schedule on Paypal site-

for friend and family,non USA using bank fund or paypal-$2.99-4.99 

using credit or debit card-$2.99-4.99 plus 2.9% plus currency fee

please verify with Paypal by going to its site

for such a small amount,it is not with using Paypal,you are better off sending cash in an envelope
