I sent my friend money to complete a payment online for a computer I needed because my bank account had a fraud attempt and I’m waiting on a new card. The payment sent as a echeck and now I don’t have an option to cancel it and she doesn’t have an option to refund it? What do we do???

All paypal payments funded from bank account go as echeques (cheapest option for paypal to use) HOWEVER if you are paying a seller (rather than a friend) using the goods/services option then paypal credit the seller upfront and paypal wait for the funds to complete from your bank account, this is so there is no delay in the dispatch of the item.

But if you are using friends/family via a bank account then you take the wait this time. Takes about a week but funds leave your bank account from a few hours up to a few days later but then have to go via ACH in batches before reaching paypal.
