HELP Seller has asked me to cancel the transaction

Hi,

I'm a bit of a noob to Paypal other than straightforward purchases so bear with me. I bought an item from Ebay last night and paid for it immediately. First thing this morning the seller has asked me 'to reverse the payment' due to him having 'issues with the account'.

I can't help but feel a bit suspicious of this as i thought the seller can cancel and refund from their end anyway therefore I am not going to cancel it from my end. I can't see how i can reverse something that has already been paid for.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated i'm not too sure what to do at this point.

Thanks,

What does it say next to the transaction in your Paypal account?

1. Pending / Unclaimed.
2. Pending / Unclaimed with a cancel option.
3. Completed / Sent.
4. Pending / Uncleared.

It in the pending section with 'hasn't accepted yet' in the transaction it'self.

But Ebay says it is paid. I should probably have mentioned it was done through Paypal Credit if that makes any difference.

Does it say unclaimed next to pending or when you click on it and is there a cancel option?
