Did not receive full amount via Friends and Family

I owed my boyfriend $300, I sent him the full payment through friends and family. It came through to his account marked $300, but when he went to deposit it, it would only deposit $270. There’s nothing left in his balance and I can’t find a record of what happens anywhere!

Firstly are you sure you used f/f and not g/s ie goods services?

Secondly..........

Have he bought anything and paid for it via paypal since the payment should have gone in??

The reason i ask is that if you have funds in your paypal balance and then buy something then paypal will sometimes take from those funds rather than from your normal funding source eg bank account or card.

To check get him to go and click on the word "details" next to any recent paypal buying transaction and see if they were funded from a paypal balance ie your payments rather than the normal funding source.
