Declined payment but money is missing

Hi. I just tried to purchase something online but I got a message saying that my payment was declined. However, I got a message from PayPal and my bank that the amount has been charged and is missing. How can I get the money back since the payment was declined and I did not order anything? Please help as money is missing from my PayPal balance and card.

What does it say next to the transaction in your Paypal account?

1. Pending (with a clearance date)
2. Pending/Unclaimed with a cancel option.
3. Pending/Unclaimed withOUT a cancel option.
4. Payment or Sent.
5. Pending/Uncleared with a clearance date.
6. Pending awaiting authorisation.

Hi. It says pending awaiting authorization but the money was taken from my bank account as well as my Paypal balance.

When you pay a company (rather than an ebay seller or individual), then it is often pending until that company processes your order and captures the pending payment.

If they don't process that order and capture the pending payment then the pending status times out at 30 days post-payment.

This happened to me only I was trying to get Gasoline but my card declined knowing I had enough money on my card I went to my car to check my PayPal account it then showed a charge on my balance for the amount I asked for but the cashier claimed nothing came up on her side
