Debited funds after purchase was cancelled

Ebay purchase was cancelled by seller, emails received from ebay to confirm, but then 24 hours later PayPal debited the funds from my bank and sent payment anyway. Another 24 hours and many emails later, PayPal history has been updated to show payment as cancelled. The only problem is they haven't returned the money to my account for the payment they supposedly cancelled..?

It'll take a few days 3-5 business days for bank payment refunds to reach PayPal balance, then it may withdrawn it to bank account again.
