Credit to Cancelled Debit Card from Unauthorized Transaction

I reported an unauthorized charge to my PP debit card, and case was opened in Resolution.
PP cancelled that card immediately so that further charges from that company could not be made.
The company has agreed that they charged me in error and are processing a credit back to me.
How can such a credit be processed if the Debit card used is now cancelled?

Hi @alphajill,

I'm very sorry to hear that there was an unauthorized charge, and I'm glad to hear that you reported it and are receiving a refund. The money from the refund will go back to the card was used. Even if the card is cancelled, the account associated with that card should still be open and would receive refunds on already made transactions. If the underlying account is closed entirely, you can contact the bank that issued the card to discuss how to have the returned funds returned to you.

I hope this information helps!
