I live in Zambia, where PayPal cannot be used to receive money. The service is available only for sending/paying.
What happens in the event that I use websites to sell things, such as Patreon, Ko-Fi, Freelancer, Bandcamp, etc?
Since their only payment method is PayPal can I receive these payments through third-party websites or am I completely disadvantaged?

You'll have to research each site to see if there are alternatives to receive your payouts, like linking a bank account. If there are none then you won't be able to use those sites.
Sometimes it is not that PayPal won't provide services there but because of gov/economic policies.
Kudos & Solved are greatly appreciated. 🙂
