Cancelled order by seller, PayPal still took payment

Hi all

 

I ordered an item from Samsung UK and used PayPal for the payment. There were sufficient funds in the bank account I used. The following day I received an email from Samsung saying my order had been cancelled “due to failure to complete the payment”.

 

My PayPal account still shows the transaction as having been processed, there is no mention of any failure.  Who’s responsibility is this - PayPal or Samsung?

 

I have since reordered using my Debit Card bypassing PayPal.
