I have been buying items on eBay, which go through PayPal. Have purchased hundreds of items of the years without any issue. In the past two weeks my personal credit card used for such purposes has charged me twice through one supplier a transaction fee of $10.00 for each purchase. When I contested to the credit card/bank holder, they told me the purchase was entered as a cash advance, not a credit card purchase. Thus the reason for the fee. I. told them In ever authorized a cash advance so presume this is a problem with the supplier. But when I contacted them ,they told me it had to be PayPal.
The bank has refunded me the fees because they realize there was no actual cash advance. But where does the problem lie in order to resolve. Any ideas?
