Hello,

It's my 3rd or 4th post regarding my issue, and still not resolved. 😞

Issue: Cancelled Payment by Merchant but was charged by bank
Transaction: Authorization Payment
Type: Debit Card
Date: August 30, 2020
Auto-Cancellation Date: September 28, 2020
Days passed: 69 days since transaction
Days passed after cancellation: 39 days

Actions made:

1. Already contacted my bank and notified me that no floating transaction/amount are to be credited to my account.

2. Already checked merchant and provided me with screenshot that transaction was cancelled/void.

3. Asked paypal, and keeps on reassuring me that the reversal process is AUTOMATIC and will take like 3-5 days, 30 days max after cancelation. But nothings happpening.

I havent received any amount yet. 😞

P.S.
I'm from Philippines

Transaction ID went missing in Summary/History tab of Paypal but can be accessed thru Email?

Thanks!

Any thoughts/what to do?

@RAGEbydefault oh my god tagalog language is not permitted by the platform so my previous messages were removed haha sorry. So anyway, what is your card issuer? Is it visa or mastercard? I am also quite bothered since we have the same issue regarding getting our funds back

@RAGEbydefault same! My issuer is also mastercard. I tried contacting them but i end up being redirected to BDO. However, BDO advised me to file a dispute (the process will take around 40 days for mastercard users to track where the money is). This kind of dispute is taken care by the bank and not by paypal. What did BPI suggested?

@cherrycruz I havent contacted Mastercard yet, I contacted BPI, BPI did nothing. They reasoned out that their specialists have already investigated and cannot find any amount for reversal.. and they keep redirecting me to Paypal.

@RAGEbydefault based from the explanation of paypal to me, at first our authorized transactions are “pending” then when it disappeared this simply means that the merchant cancelled or void the transaction. That being so Paypal system already requested it to be voided by MasterCard and the bank that issued the card. Generally, the reversal should be adjusted by your card issuer in 1-14 days up to 1 billing cycle dependent on their posting policy on refund or reversal of void transactions. Do you still continue to call and follow up the issue to BPI and Paypal?

TO be honest I havent called again my Bank regarding  this. they always tell me that they cant find the money.. I only contacted both Paypal and Bank. and they keep pointing each other. tsk

Should I contact Mastercard regarding this?

Maybe your bank can resolve your issue better than my bank.

I suggest to call BPI customer service again and explain the issue. If that does not work, try mastercard customer service instead. Also, it is better to go directly to the bank branch where you opened your bank account, explain the issue and provide them with screenshots of the transactions (it is better if the transaction number are seen). How many days have already passed since the transaction disappeared?
