Authorisation denied by PayPal for Apple

I bought an ipad from apple through PayPal online. The money was supposed to come out from my card via paypal and just a few days ago I saw that my order was on hold because PayPal were not authorising the payment for Apple. I have tried to contact PayPal in every way possible e.g. telephone in which the answer machine keeps saying they cannot help me at this current time, message centre in which I have sent a message 6 days ago and received no reply. I have contacted PayPal over Facebook and they said to me that they can neither deny or authorise a payment and I need to talk to Apple. I'm being pushed forwards and backwards and as I'm a student at university, I'm depending on this ipad and PayPal aren't really helping at these hard times.
