i have opened a new pay pal account and closed my old one.What details do I give someone to put a refund into my new account ehen item was paid for out of old account?

The refund will need to be issued from the original transaction you made. I understand this transaction is on an old account. Refunds are credited back to the funding source used to make the original payment providing there are no limitations on the old account. It is not possible to process a refund to your new account.
