Hi all I have been asked to send payment via PayPal - (missing out depop ) - am I still covered by PayPal if I don’t receive the item ? TIA

No. Friends and family payment type has no purchase/buyer protection so do not use it for goods and services. Goods and services payment type has fees for recipient and recipient is responsible for them. Being charged fees is the excuse they use to convince buyers into sending money as friends and family and then disappear on them, then buyers come here talking about they got scammed. When paying, PayPal tells you which payment type has buyer/purchase protection.
