Hello. I am doing some volunteer work delivering groceries during the quarantine. Someone I delivered two was reimbursing me the grocery costs. She sent me $40 but when I excepted it it charged a fee and I only got 38 and change. I don’t understand what the fee is. Can someone help?

Its down to how the payment was SENT to your account.
1. If they sent using money > goods / services option then paypal would see you as a seller would also charge you a fee.
2. If they had sent using the send money > family / friends option then you would have had the payment with no fee. (However that option is not available in every country).
Advice is voluntary.
Kudos / Solution appreciated.
