2.9% Fee +$0.30 for Sending Money to a PayPal account through a debit/credit card

Okay so say I send an invoice to a customer for $20. Does the 2.9% fee +$0.30 using an outside card (no PayPal account) come out of the $20 they are sending me, or is it added to my charge of $20?

Thank you for raising your concern through our community forum.

If you’re selling goods or services and the occurs through an online transaction and the funds you are receiving are coming from a PayPal account in the U.S., then you pay a fee of 2.9% of the transaction amount plus a fixed fee based on the currency.
