Seller protection is free.

However Ebay and Paypal are 2 totally separate companies.

You pay Ebay to list and sell your item and that fee is invoiced on a monthly basis.

You pay Paypal to be able to accept instant online payments (including from credit cards), that payment is deducted from your buyers payment and the rest credited to your paypal balance.

Hello sameol! Thank you for your post and welcome to the PayPal Community! As mentioned by @kernowlass, PayPal Seller Protection is a free service offered by PayPal 🙂 If you would like to know more about PayPal fees, I recommend checking here https://goo.gl/Q7MTcZ. Hope this helps. - Carlos
