Cancel payment

Hi, I’ve sent payment through friends and family to someone who doesn’t have an account. There is no cancel button and I’ve searched for ways to annul this but the transaction says “sent” and I am unsure what to do next.

It was my mistake, I meant to send an email transfer and logged in PayPal instead without thinking it through. She is a good lady and I’m sure there’s no scam, but she doesn’t have a PayPal account. She sees the text that she recd money but has no way of accepting it. I’m hoping it will bounce back to me in 30 days. ?

If they did not have an account then it would show as pending / unclaimed.

If its showing as 'sent' then it has successfully completed to the email address / linked to a paypal account that you sent it to.

If you were paying for goods / services using that option then you may well have been scammed by them getting you to send it f/f and then telling you it has not gone through. They know you can't open a dispute to get it back again.

You can't do anything. PayPal send an email to the receiver, letting them know about your payment. Now they have the option to accept the payment by opening a PayPal account. If they don't do it, the payment will be returned after a certain time. But you will find the exact information you are looking for within PayPal FAQ, or you send a message to PayPal customer support. I am sure you will not be able to just cancel it.

I’m hoping it will bounce back to me in 30 days, but it’s so frustrating. I’ve tried calling them but I don’t think humans actually work there! Lol Thanks so much for your reply!
