Payflow pro api how do I authorize the funds and days later either approve the charge or cancel

We have payflow pro api setup right now to auth-capture on our web site and need to allow preapproval for charges that need to be verified before we can accept or cancel.
I need to do the same thing I seen hotels do, Make sure the funds are available by placing a hold on the money when the user registers online. if they arrive and use the room I can charge that amount without requiring the presents of a credit card or if they don't show I can cancel the authorization programmatically. There is also a chance the amount may have changed and I may need to increase the charge as well.
