We are experiencing a number of IPN fatal errors on the response instead of VERIFIED. Luckily PayPal retries these but why are we getting so many fatal errors in the firs place? I email myself when this happens and its a ton a day.

Me too, since yesterday, and I *don't* see any retries. Have to fulfil manually, not my idea of spending the weekend. Support issue raised yesterday but so far no response.

Mine retries cause the code gets ran and changes a value so it must happen right after the first failure.

Do you use Paypal's IPN code? Didn't exist when I set up shop, so I wrote my own PHP. Maybe that's the difference?
