I’m having a problem finding my refund

The company that I attempted to purchase an item from , has given me an ID number to check on the refund that they say they’ve given me back my money through PayPal.. However every time I’m on chat with PayPal they seem to be taking me in circles and I cannot seem to retrieve my refund that the company said they gave to PayPal… Does anyone have any suggestions of how I might possibly solve this problem, is there a way to actually talk with a real human being associated with PayPal about this issue ? Whenever I’ve tried calling PayPal their recording is sending me back to this online business… Which seems to be getting me nowhere. I’m fairly new to this PayPal experience ,not to mention I just recently lost my husband , feeling very upset and I need my money back .
