Hi,

When I click on the PayPal button on the checkout page on my ecommerce website, the PayPal pop-up appears for 2-3 seconds, then

it disappears and then I get this message: "The response is not a valid JSON response.",

What could be wrong ?

I have searched the internet for a solution for long days without a success.

Please help,

Thanks a lot, appreciate your help

Aiman

Good day @aimankhoury,

Thank you for posting to the PayPal community.

Please cross check your LIVE PayPal Business account and make sure it is verified and confirmed without any account limitations

I would suggest to please contact the support of third party eCommerce support, who should be able to help you regarding the plugins/modules setup and make sure your website system is passing valid API requests to PayPal system.

Third party platforms Shopify eCommerce develops their own plugins/modules.

Guide link : https://developer.paypal.com/docs/checkout/standard/

Please follow the below steps via your PayPal account.

Login PayPal.com >> click on "settings icon" >> go to "Account settings" >> Website payments >> PayPal buttons >> select "Smart Buttons" button type >> fill all the required details.

(Or)

Login PayPal.com >> go to direct link "https://www.paypal.com/buttons/" >> follow the above steps

Sincerely,

Hi,

Thanks a lot for the reply.

My Paypal account was live and verified and confirmed, but it still did not work.

The Paypal plugin I've used for woocommerce, which has caused the error, has no support anymore.

So I had to use the latest Paypal plugin for woocommerce which is said to be better and has more options and functionality,

but the problem with it was that it is compatible with wordpress version up to 6.1.3

So I hade to uninstall the latest version of wordpress which was 7.2, and install version 6.1.3 and disable the

automatic upgrade. It worked, this was good enough for me.

Thanks a lot, appreciate your help,

Aiman
