We used to have Paypal Buttons script in site where it sends to paypal, and return to our site, client gets an email to confirm he paid.
We move to Paypal Checkout embed code so the transaction happens on our site. there is a small box that says transaction completed but no email sent to the client if they pay.
We use Joomla 1.5 so we dont have the sofisticated plugins. just need a smimple solution.
