HTML Variables - DISCOUNT_AMOUNT "Not Supported"?

Greetings,
Went to start a SALE on some of my store items, only to have an existing MY SAVED BUTTON tell me that DISCOUNT_AMOUNT (and 2) are NOT SUPPORTED. The button is an ADD TO CART. According to the HTML VARS list linked right from the ADVANCED field, it states the variable is only good for BUY NOW and ADD TO CART so this should work ... like it has for years. Anyone have any suggestions? Again, I have used the DISCOUNT vars on this button and other buttons over the years without any issue. What changed?

Hard to believe no one has responded ... have turned in a Merchant Support IT TICKET. Will see what they say.
Was hoping to hear if others were seeing same issue. Either a system issue or something wrong with the account as I have tried to no avail:
1) Other HTML VARS (valid for Buy Now and Add To Cart buttons only)
2) Other My Saved Buttons (all Add To Cart)
3) Created New Button (both Buy Now and Add To Cart)
All resulting in "Unsupported variable XXXXXXXXX"
