PayPal Debit Mastercard and BillMeLater

My BillMeLater account is linked to my PayPal account. If I do not have funds in my PayPal Account and try to use my PayPal Debit Mastercard, will my purchase be declined or will the purchase be billed to my BillMeLater account?
