Purchasing Something Over Your Credit Limit

Ok so if want to buy something for example 2000 pound and and have 1500 in my PayPal balance and 1200 in my PayPal credit can I transfer the 1500from my balance to the paypal credit and have 2700 and make the purchase in one transaction

Apparently you can not split payments, adding it nope will not work, thats what I was told.
