Paypal Credit - Direct debit payment always on the last day?

Hi,

- I would like to know if the direct debit payment (for paypal credit) is always taken on the last day of the billing period?

-Is it possible to set the direct debit payment for as soon as the statement is received? 

Have already spoken with support over the phone a couple of times but don't have a definitive answer.

My previous payment date was the 10th. I called and changed the date explaining that I didn't want the payment to be taken on the last possible day. It was then changed to the 1st BUT it appears the statement date also changed. I assume I'm still paying on the last possible day! Need this clarified please.

I need to avoid any issues that may lead to a late payment (& fee) plus a negative marker on my credit profile.

You can make a single payment and/or set up a scheduled payment.

I think customer service misunderstood your request and changed your regular statement date to change your due date or something too or that was what they had to do to change the date they take payment.
