The only PayPal debit card that is able to set a backup funding source other than an available PayPal balance is the PayPal Business debit card.
The Business debit card is able to set linked checking accounts and PayPal branded credit cards as backup funding sources in case of a zero PayPal balance. Unfortunately, PayPal Credit is not able to be used as a backup funding source.
