PayPal credit and age restriction question.

So my little brother, who is 17, wants to buy himself a One Plus 6 T. He has enough money to buy it in full ($579) but doesn't want to spend all of his money all at once. The problem here is that he is 17, he cannot apply or use PayPal credit, because you need to be 18 years old in order to do that. Is it possible for him to add his debit card onto my older brothers account (he is 22). Have him apply for PayPal credit, and then just use that card to pay off the PayPal credit amount each month? Or is that breaking any rules about teens using PayPal credit through someone else's account.

Yes, there are rules against minors using PayPal and adding someone else's financial information to another PayPal account as that would be unwise and could get the PayPal account suspended or banned. Names has to match. The 17 year old can pay his older 22 yr old brother cash by withdrawing from his bank to get the item for the younger brother but I also think people need to read and understand how PayPal Credit and their promotional offers work because you might end up paying more than the principle as minimum payments still have to be made even if you paid the whole thing in time with the no interest in 6 months and really understanding how minimum and in excess payments are applied.
